June 2020: After 22 years at CBRE, I have made the decision to move our business to NAI Advent Commercial Real Estate. Myself and Scott Russell are excited to join the NAI team and to further service our clients at the best of our combined abilities. Along with this move is our new affiliation with SVN Rock Advisors, a leading consulting company with an exclusive focus on the apartment sector. Canada’s rental apartment development market has been evolving for 20 years, experiencing year over year growth that peaked in 2019, thus increasing the need to develop broader resources specific to this need. New rental apartment starts in 2019 totaled 50,000 units with a gross number of $1.5 Trillion, evidence of growing demand and confidence in the purpose-built rental market. Derek Lobo has been the CEO of SVN Rock Advisors Inc. for the past 20 years. Combined we have analyzed, studied, and facilitated the sale of 5,787 new apartment units. Our new initiative is to expand our services across Canada and offer a one-stop experience for investors and developers in the apartment sector. Our services will include research and development, feasibility studies, design concepts, financial analysis and marketing. We have a combined experience of 60 years in the industry and we have been fortunate to work and build lasting relationships with some extraordinary developers by bringing the highest level of trust and respect to each transaction.
